bio ==== The Wheelers were formed in Sacramento, CA, in late 1999. Heavily influenced by popular musicians from the late 1950s and early 60s, the Wheelers produce a refreshing blend of post-pop and alternative-indie rock. After an extensive European tour with punk rockers Hungerford, the Wheelers burst onto the college radio scene with their hit, "I Want Some Bread (Gimme One Slice)." They signed with now-defunct Ontario based indie label CrotchRockit Records in early 1998 and released the often misunderstood debut double-disc, "Observance of the High Ideals." After the small label collapsed due to dwindling record sales, the the Wheelers regrouped in their hometown of Marion, Iowa, and in the fall of 2004, began writing new material for their debut release.
